eLearning Courseware Student Success CyberTools |
We designed and produced a series of eLearning modules to promote online student success
for the California Virtual Campus, a statewide consortium of community colleges.
These "cybertools" include:
|
eLearning Hands-on Science Seymour Intertidal Monitoring Program |
Working with intertidal biology researchers, we designed and produced
the online components of an ongoing coastal monitoring hands-on science
project.
Although participation is open, the project is targeted to high school biology classes in which they learn how to identify and count intertidal plants and animals in the field. They then enter, analyze and compare their findings with others online through a Web interface to a backend database. We designed and produced the Web site for identifying study species, counting techniques, and the interactive database (work-in-progress). |
eLearning Courseware Introduction to Biology |
We acted as Senior Project Manager in the production of the Biology
eLearning Products for Archipelago Productions (now Thompson Learning, formerly Harcourt eLearning).
This series of products, targeted to higher education, involved
a multi-year coordinated effort of a 12 person interdisciplinary team and
more than 25 consultants and contributors.
These hybrid CD-ROM / Web Site products are still at the leading edge of multimedia distance education technology, with each lesson presented using audio narration and scripted cursor movements. The technology allows for the content of any lesson to be completely customized, reorganized, edited and modified, with additional audio narration recording capability. These products are truly the Lamberghinni of its day. Images © copyright Harcourt. |
eLearning Courseware Presenting: Effective Written and Oral Communication |
We designed and produced the online course
"Presenting: Effective Written and Oral Communication" for the for-profit Harcourt Higher Education virtual university (now owned by Thompson).
This class is intended for adult learners.
Within the framework of the course delivery system, we defined the look-and-feel, instructional design, multimedia, and implemented the site. This course teaches a combination of rhetoric with presentation skills using PowerPoint and voice audio. Images © copyright Harcourt. |
eLearning Supplemental Material Visions of the Past |
We designed and produced the CD-ROM
"Vision of the Past" for the University of California at Santa Cruz.
This CD-ROM is intended for both general and professional audiences.
We defined the look-and-feel, instructional design, multimedia, and produced the CD-ROM. This CD-ROM uses a variety of multimedia including audio, video, and QTVR. |
Training California Virtual Campus |
After producing the Student Success CyberTools, we created instructor training for these eLearning modules. The instructor training is delivered using Tegrity audio streaming technology with PowerPoint slides and voice over screen animations.
|
Training The Conference Office at UC Santa Cruz |
After we designed and produced the Web site, we wrote reference materials and trained the office staff to maintain their new Web site by using basic HTML code and FTP.
|
Training The Sibbett Group |
After we designed and produced collaborative projects Web sites, we wrote reference materials and trained the office staff to maintain their new Web sites by using basic HTML code, FTP, and Fireworks.
|
Training Social Sciences Division at UC Santa Cruz |
After we designed and produced departmental Web sites (work still in process), we wrote reference materials and trained the office staff to maintain their new Web site by using DreamWeaver and FTP.
